3 Night Family Farm Stay Experience
Our 3 Night Rural Ireland Experience will provide you with an authentic experience of Irish life. You will learn and participate in the old farming traditions like turf cutting & stone wall building. Your host Eddie Joe will take you around his village of Carracastle and show you the remnants of Mayo's ancient past with visits to ritual sites and ancient forts and you will have a comfortable night in the remoteness of County Mayo in your own traditional Irish cottage.

The Dooney Family Cottage
Your unique accommodation is a restored traditional Irish cottage. You will spend the night in this comfortable and extremely cosy home located on the family farm. Burn some turf on the fire and drink hot drinks whilst watching the shooting stars in the stunningly clear Mayo sky.

Irish Working Farm & Bog Tour
Take a tour of the Ireland West Farm Stay working farm with host Eddie Joe and learn all about farming in Ireland old and new. You will meet the animals and hear the history and folklore of rural Ireland.
You will see how the turf is cut and used in the west of Ireland. You will learn of both the Living Bogs and The Working Bogs and their intrinsic connection with rural Ireland. You will try your hand at cutting the turf whilst exploring the fascinating flora and fauna of this unique habitat. All in the beautiful surround of County Mayos rural heartlands.
Local Village Walking Tour
Join local amateur historian and farm Eddie Joe on a 1hr walking tour of the local village of Carracastle, Mayo. The journey will take you back in time with Iron age ring forts, magic faery trees, ancient limekilns, army barracks and famine graves. As well as learning the history you will get an insight into contemporary rural Ireland village life.
Blacksmithing Workshop with Pat Strahan
Join Pat 'The Blacksmith' Strahan in his intimate Barroe Rock Forge for a fascinating workshop in the art of the Blacksmith. You will learn the methods of Blacksmithing both old and new and be introduced to the ancient amulet of the 9 Irons. Enjoy being shown and taking part in this age old skill from rural Irelands days gone by.

Traditional Irish Music by the Fireside
Join local musicians by the fireside and discover real rural Ireland. You will hear local trad songs and reels in County Mayo. This is an intimate musical experience and provides a glimpse back to a time before television and radio in the heart of rural Ireland.
